X1 Changes Due

With roadworks underway at Postwick on the east side of Norwich, Gerrard's X1 Blog reveals changes to the route commencing on the 27th July

The X1 route is to split to overcome excessive disruption to the whole service. The eastern section will operate on a twenty minute frequency between Lowestoft and Norwich via Great Yarmouth and Acle. The western part will run every thirty minutes between Norwich and Peterborough omitting the Toftwood diversion. Dereham will be served via Scarning as previously

The eastern section will operated by Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft based drivers with seven Enviro400s transferred to the Norfolk town for  maintenance purposes. The remaining part of the route will be operated solely by Kings Lynn drivers

Gerard says 'It remains to be seen whether these changes will be temporary covering the period of the Postwick Hub roadworks, or whether this will end up being a permanent situation'.
