Crosville Motor Services

Last weekend's visit to Weston-super-Mare coincided with recent press reports on the cessation of bus services in the town by Crosville Motor Services (CMS)

Dennis Dart KU02YTY travels along the sea front heading for Sand Bay on the 100 service
The company currently provides two local services in the form of commercially operated 100 Sand Bay to Tesco/Regent Street and the supported 106 from Worlebury Golf Course to the same terminus. These will both cease on Saturday April 21st 2018

Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TL V139LGC arrives at Tesco with the 106 service
CMS has taken the decision with some regret which 'was simply because the market is too challenging with passengers numbers falling and competition fierce'. The operator is part of JJP Holdings South West and employs 10 full time and 11 part time staff plus casual workers. It runs a 24 strong fleet.

V125LGC is one of four former London Central buses in the Crosville fleet and is seen in Regent Street
JJP Holdings also owns a heritage fleet which will be used on the final day; these are being retained by the holding company.

Therefore, I had to put some time aside to get some photos of Crosville vehicles in service during my short stay.
