Brighton Breeze

The Easter weekend meant a trip down south based in a B&B in Worthing.

Arriving on Good Friday evening we decided a trip to Brighton was in order for the Saturday

Saturday dawned and the first photo I took was that of Stagecoach Scania N230UD Enviro 400 15595 GX10HBD plying its trade on the 700 Coastliner westbound in Worthing.
We arrived in Brighton late morning and decided not to take advantage of the exorbitant parking charges there (£5 for two hours!) and continued on to the marina and caught the bus back.

Brighton was very very busy and I was amazed at the amount of bus activity in the main shopping streets. I am unable to include all the pictures I took on the
day on the blog so I recommend a look at the Brighton set on my Flickr site where they will be shortly

As expected, Go-Ahead subsidiary Brighton & Hove was by far the major operator with its red and cream liveried vehicles seen almost everywhere.

The vehicle types varied from the Mercedes Benz Citaro bendibuses to Scania deckers and
also included a number of Volvo/ Wright Eclipse Geminis as well as Dennis Troidents

One photo shows no less than six Brighton & Hove deckers in a row travelling along one of Brighton's main shopping streets - unbelievable; reminds me of the good old days!

One exception to the Brighton & Hove dominance was a
Scania N94UD/ East Lancs Omnidekka YN53RZE operating on the 271 Crawley route for Metrobus

All in all a very interesting hour or so observing bus operations in this Sussex city on a busy Saturday
