It has been just over a month now since I provided information on the preservation of a former Abellio London single decker in the Suffolk area. (see Abellio Acquisition ~ 20th August 2023) The majority of the structural and mechanical work on Dennis Dart KP02 PVU is close to completion with the result that only cosmetic activity is now required to finish the project.
The Dart is owned by the AJ Preservation Group which has now secured a second vehicle to keep themselves occupied! Jake Golding has pointed me towards the Group's Facebook Page which indicated it was another Dart purchased from a private owner in the form of ex Halton Transport's PX06 DWD. The eagle eyed among you may remember that this is one of the three found languishing in a yard in Lowestoft in May 2000 (Ex Halton Trio Surprise ~ 29th May 2020)
Apart from receiving target practice from seagulls it has also been treated to vandalism by unknown persons. New in March 2006 it has seen service with Stagecoach and will be a long term project for the Group
