Norwich Today

A few pictures of observations in Norwich City Centre's Castle Meadow earlier today by regular contributor Dan High.

The first shows former Yellow Buses of Bournemouth's Alexander Dennis Enviro400MMC 34424 SN17 MTX on the Red Line 26 service to the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.

A recent arrival for Completely Coach Travel of Norwich is this Van Hool TDX27 Astromega VHZ 727. It was new to Stagecoach Bluebird in August 2012 as their SV12 DVW for use on megabus.com routes between Aberdeen, Glasgow and London. It then passed to Thames Transit for Oxford Tube services.

Finally, Coastal Red Volvo B9 36288 LX59 DBZ operated the 7 service between Great Yarmouth's Market Gates and Norwich via Caister, Filby and Fleggburgh.

Thanks for the photos Dan

East Anglia in Scotland

David Bell has recently returned from a few days in Scotland with the Merseyside Bus Club on their annual holiday.

Whilst the Club was over the border they visited the premises of Prentice Westwood of West Calder who have two heritage coaches previously owned by East Anglian operators. One was EAH 44K, a 1972 Bedford YRQ/Duple, which was new to Chenery of Dickleburgh.

The other coach was WCE 95T, a Bedford YMT/Plaxton, which was new to Cambridgeshire Constabulary in 1979 and then spent a number of years in the fleet of Dews of Somersham.

My thanks to David the report and photos.

Sanders Decker For Preservation

A second Sanders VDL DB250 double decker has left for pastures new. It now has a new life in preservation in Essex. Number 105 YJ05 PZE was new in June 2005 being the very first brand new double decker the company purchased. It lasted until April last year and was collected by its new owner yesterday. YJ05 PZE has also been recreated as a CORGI model.

Thanks to LiamS for the info and photo.

Latest Angie's Acquisition

So far unreported here is the acquisition of a Scania Omnicity by Lowestoft-based Angie's Tours. YN65 FAM was noted in a layby on the A146 just before the Barnby Bends this morning.

It was owned by Tyrers Coaches in Lancashire and was put up for sale in 2022 by Odyssey Coach Sales having been ex Nottingham City Transport 539. It was new to Reading in October 2006

My thanks to Jon for the report and photo who said it was good to see a Scania again reminding him of the good old Anglian days.
