BorderBus Additions

With the beginning of the new colleges and schools terms BorderBus has added vehicles to its fleet. On his wanderings around Beccles on Thursday Steve Blackburn found the following sightings of interest.

A visit to the BorderBus depot at Moor Business Park revealed the former DRM Bus Scania Omnicity has received its new livery and re-registered from DM09 DRM to its original YT09 FLK. It also has received fleet number 115

He also observed Scania N230UD OmniCity YT59 DXY still in the Manchester Bee Network primrose livery was noted on Bus Times with fleet number 219. As part of the Manchester fleet it was numbered 3602 and was previously with Stagecoach as their 15388. It was seen on the 146 service between Lowestoft and Beccles in torrential rain so no photo. A link to its previous life can be found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/dmc1947/53628182614/

Another decker, in all white, was SN09 CFG which was parked near the depot bearing fleet number 33593. This is former Metroline ADL Enviro400 TE1733 and featured an 'Operated by Border Bus Ltd' sticker in the window. On Bus Times it was shown allocated fleet number 903. It is not known if it is on loan or a purchase. A photo of it in its London Red colours when with Metroline can be viewed at https://www.flickr.com/photos/153467089@N08/47987618913/

He says the new single decker, BB75 BUS (now presumably 116?), was nowhere to be seen.

My thanks to Steve for the information and photo which was taken in the pouring rain and sends his apologies for its quality.

  1. 33593 is potentially a loan from First Ensignbus, this has been loaned to First Colchester a couple of times along with 33590.

  3. I think BB75 is somewhere in Ely having some stuff done to it before it goes into service.
