New Excel Buses ~ Arriving Spring 2020

Yes the word is out, at last, as to what will be replacing the ADL Enviro 400s on First Eastern Counties' XL service between Peterborough and Norwich.

At around lunchtime today it was announced on the operator's website that the replacements would be Alexander Dennis E400 Cities on a Scania chassis - a first time for this combination. Up until now the information was contained in a cloak of secrecy.

Some features of the new product include comfy coach seating on both decks complete with USB charging points plus seat back phone docks with wireless charging. As currently, there will also be free WiFi and additionally bus stopping buttons at all seats. More information is to be announced shortly.

The high specification buses are expected to be on the road in 'early Spring 2020'
