Autumn Bus Running Day

The Ipswich Transport Museum held their Autumn Bus Running Day yesterday and Dan High sends photos from the event. To avoid much repetition, this post excludes photos of the more regular attendees at these local gatherings.

Dan's first picture shows former Ipswich Buses Leyland Atlantean open top No 9 MRT 9P with a full load - probably a little draughty on the top deck!

Another Ipswich Buses Roe-bodied Leyland Atlantean, owned by the museum, is closed top No.6 MRT6P.

Dan's Coach Travel's Scania N230UB OmniCity B22 DCT attended the event. Named as Dawn, the coach was previously registered as YR10 AZG.

Another visiting independent was Whincop of Peasenhall's OJI 742. The Volvo B10BLE / Wright Renown was new to Ambassador Travel of Great Yarmouth as T127 OAH in March 1999

Preserved ex Hedingham Buses Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TL 573 W491 WGH was on display.

Dan 's last photo is taken outside Ipswich railway station featuring three vehicles on rail replacement duty. They were Beestons, Volvo B8RLE / MCV eVoRa 219 GRA, Angies Tours' Optare Solo PC05 PCC and North Essex Travel's LK56 JKJ.

Many thanks to Dan for his many photos.

Roy
