The operator has been a familiar sight on the Fen highways for several decades with Charles James Towler starting the company back in 1932He continued successfully for 33 years and then he retired, selling his vehicles and the remainder of the business to Lawson Fox. Alan Charles Towler (his son) then took back the business on 1st April 1969 and continued as a sole trader for a further 34 years.
On 1st May 2003, Towlers Coaches Ltd was incorporated by Alan’s children (Mark, Wendy, Anton and Joanne) who ran the company as equal directors. Towlers was still trading from where Charles Towler started all those years ago, at Church Road in Emneth, Norfolk. They will retain their 1952 Bedford SB Duple EJD 510.
The foursome and, of course not forgetting most importantly Alan Towler, 'would like to send a massive thank you to every single person over the 90 years of trading, who have worked for them, hired our coaches or had any dealings with the company in anyway. It's been a blast! We wish the new directors all the very best for the future.'

Apparently although the Towler family have ceased trading the Towler name and operating licences have been sold to another operator as yet undisclosed but from the Wisbech ares.
