Seafront Service Starts
The new hourly bus service, linking some of Great Yarmouth's holiday parks with the seafront and town centre attractions, commenced yesterday.
Swift Taxis began using its 37 seater Mercedes Vario AE07NZC on the 500 Seafront service on Saturday in response to requests for a service to be reintroduced. The open top service provided by McMaster Awaydays has not been reintroduced this year and First Eastern Counties has decided not to continue its service 3 beyond the town centre by terminating it at Market Gates.

And just to think that when I was growing up (when Yarmouth really was Great) there was a combined 5-minute service between the piers. GYCT services 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9. Britania Pier was served by all these and North Drive had three services, 3, 4 and 7.
ReplyDeleteHow times have changed.
Very true Mick, they were certainly Great times. I always used to look forward to racedays when the older vehicles were let out on the 12 between Britannia Pier and the Racecourse. No such services now!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, Swift have run this service before haven't they? (i cant really remember)
ReplyDeleteare you uploading these to Flickr?
Thanks Joe
