ECW ~ 30th Anniversary

This weekend sees the East Anglian Transport Museum hold a special event to commemorate the closure of Lowestoft's Eastern Coach Works just thirty years ago. The event will see many ECW bodied vehicles attending from all over the country.

To whet your appetite Tim Major has provided photos of two of the museum vehicles which will be on display and also providing free vintage bus services throughout the day. There will also be regular services between the museum and Lowestoft rail and bus stations - operating at hourly intervals. A second service will connect Beccles Old Market with the museum at the same frequency.

Leyland Olympian D367JJD, the 'lucky last' in a long line of busses built at ECW. It is currently lacking one or two finishing details but will be available for the weekend. In due course it will be fitted with coach seating.
A free park and ride service also runs from the Ashburnham Way Co-op store to the museum with the Carlton Colville site being open to the public between 11am and 5pm on both days.

Further information about the museum can be viewed at eatransportmuseum.co.uk/visit-us.html
My thanks to Tim for the photos and information

Roy
