As reported last week, Awaydays have been operating a special free half hourly service around the city to raise money for The Big C Appeal. I was in the very damp city today for shopping purposes and managed to see the vehicles in action.
Preserved Eastern Counties Bristol VR190 VPW85S was looking splendid in the rain seen above awaiting passengers in Castle Meadow. It was running alongside Routemaster CUV151C which has recently returned to use after accident repairs.
I did speak to Sam Larke who was conducting this morning and a nice amount of money has been raised for the charity so far and passenger numbers were very healthy despite the awful weather today.
Grahame.
