The bus has an interesting history which started when it was new with Midland Fox in June 1997 (which had become part of the Cowie Group). Later that year it was re-branded as Arriva Fox County and six years later it merged with Arriva Derby and Arriva Midland North to form Arriva Midlands
The Vario subsequently moved on to Pete's Travel trading as Peoples Express. That business (and P114HCH) was subsequently sold to the Go Ahead Group in March 2006 who consolidated their operations on one license trading as Birmingham Coach Company
Nightingales of Beccles later acquired the vehicle from near neighbours Berry (Waylands Minibus) in May 2009 and subsequently re registered it as HIL8446
