East Coast Truckers

Yesterday saw the East Coast Truckers children’s convoy with some sixty trucks taking youngsters from Norwich to Pleasurewood Hills and Great Yarmouth. I witnessed the cacophony of the loud horns at first hand on the outward journey at Church Lane in Gorleston in the hope of securing photos of the support coaches provided by Smith's Coaches of Blofield

However, my patience went unrewarded as I missed them - whether they had taken an alternative route or were delayed I am not sure. However, regular contributor Tim Miller managed to capture two of the trio on his camera further down the road with Dennis Javelin Marcopolo bodied Volvo B12M FP51EUN at the front of the threesome

The annual event, now in its 31st year, aims to give children with disabilities, or from disadvantaged backgrounds, a day they will never forget.

My thanks to Tim for the photo; who later explained that the coaches used the town's bypass to get to Pleasurewood Hills before the trucks arrived

  1. Hello the coaches take an alternative route to go ahead as they are carrying the wheelchairs and aids of Convoy day children, so when the convoy arrives at Pleasurewood hills everything is set up ready for the children to start their day without any delays
