Service Alterations Registered ~ 29th April 2015

Firstly I would like to record my thanks to Grahame for posting local news to the blog whilst I was away on the south coast for a short break

One casualty of my time away is that our regular fortnightly look at changes to local bus services had to be delayed. However, I will attempt to put that right today with a look at the Eastern Area Traffic Commissioner's Notices and Proceedings Report published on 29th April 2015

The full contents of publication 2204 can be viewed HERE but the only significant change relating to our area is the provision of a new schools service by Sanders Coaches between Cley Old Woman's Lane and Sheringham High School. Granted under short notice, the route operates via Salthouse, Kelling and Weybourne and began as service 405 from 13th April 2015

Members of the Emblings and Judds fleets were regular visitors to the town's Beach Coach Station. This is Scania/
Van Hool YIL3129 visiting on the 1st May 2011
As you may have probably have seen elsewhere, a Public Enquiry was held at the Commissioner's offices in Cambridge on 20th February 2015 into the operations of Emblings Coaches and associate Judds Travel. It was decided to revoke both operator licences with effect from the end of the 9th June 2015 with company directors disqualified indefinitely from the same date. Transport Manager Mark Reymond Judd was declared unfit to operate the licences

Judds Northern Counties bodied Volvo L212YCU on a Whittlesey service in Peterborough on 20th February 2012

  1. Seems odd that the commissioner has decided to let Emblings/Judd continue to operate until 9th June. It hardly installs confidence of those using there buses (including school children) that the buses are safe. This will be further exacerbated by a low moral of the staff knowing that they will be losing their jobs.
