#TBT LDZ9126

LDZ9126 in Gordon Road Lowestoft on 3rd February 2007
Today's Throw Back Thursday doesn't go back as far as many of the recent postings. This week's offering is LDZ9126 a Wright Handybus bodied Dennis Dart, new to London Buses in September 1992 and designated as their DW126

Exactly two years later, the 26 seater was absorbed into the Centrewest fleet upon privatisation and subsequently First Centrewest in March 1997

Wright Handybus LDZ9126 became 45426 in the First fleet and is pictured in Lowestoft London Road North on the
same day. Immediately behind is Plaxton Pointer variant 46041 K741JAH at the time allocated to Yarmouth

The puddlejumper, as the type became known as, gave some three years of further service before being withdrawn in June 2000 and placed into store. Later that month it moved to First Eastern Counties receiving fleet number 377 and allocated to Norwich

In its later years it was based at Lowestoft and was one of the last to remain in service there. By October 2007 it had been reported as sold to Wigley, dealer of Carlton

My thanks to Ian's Bus Stop for the history of LDZ9126

Roy
